Hand Sewn
It's an odd time in the house at the moment. My oldest daughter Izzy, has just finished her GCSE's and school until she starts her A-levels in September, so is now finding a large amount of free time on her hands. It's been really lovely having her at home, but going from crazy revision and exam anxiety to nothing has been a little odd, what to do?
For a while, she's been admiring detachable collars, but with very little funds at the moment she decided to make one for herself. It's been wonderful seeing her work out the pattern, hand sewing the seems, and creating something from very little and working the whole process out for herself.
It's amazing what post exam boredom can create!

Oh I saw your RT of this today and thought it was lovely - didn't realise it was by your daughter! I liked her self-deprecating wit too :)
Thanks Flora, yep that's Izzy for you ;-)
It's been really nice to see her inspried to create something, as she's been suffering from bouts of depression, so to see her make something and have the courage to tweet about it has been a little bit of a mile stone really.
Saving herself £10/£20 in a high street shop has helped too i think! x
It looks really great - and it is wonderful to see a youngun' be so resourceful. Must have had a good example to follow huh?!
A great read, as always - and what a talented daughter you have! My son has also just finished school and GCSEs, if only I could get him interested in sewing!
I would like to nominate you for a Versatile Blogger Award. I think this is a nice way of showing appreciation of blogs that you really enjoy taking the time out to read.
There are a few 'rules' to follow if you want to go ahead - take a look at my page for more details (www.marievickersart.blogspot.com)
You don't have to take part in this if you choose not to, but at least you know how much I like your blog!
