Back in April a good friend of mine encouraged me to enter the County Living Kitchen Table Talent Awards. Now, i'm the sort of person who never wins anything, so to hear that i had actually won the Best Artist category was amazing! The magazine has been wonderful, and to meet all the other winners at a special day at the Emma Bridgewater factory in Stoke-on-Trent was a real treat. More information can be found on the
blog and September's issue of Country Living magazine available this week.
Best wishes,
Amanda x
Fabulous news and so well deserved, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! very well deserved. I am so thrilled for you.
ReplyDeleteNot at all surprising that you won! Well done.
ReplyDeleteBig congrats on winning the Best Artist award at KTT! Just had to check out your work - absolutely beautiful prints with a lovely rhythmic quality. I had entered the KTT awards too for Best Artist but your work is amazing, and I can see I've still got a lot of work to do to get to your level! I love the idea of an old mangle for printing. So unconventional but it clearly works! Will be following your blog with interest and all the very best with the mentoring. Congrats again, best wishes, Morag
ReplyDeleteThank you Morag- i hope you don't mind but i took a look at your lovely website, your work really is beauitful! I wish i could share this prize with so many deserving artists and printmakers- if i could i would : )

ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, it's Morag here, thank you so much for visiting my website and for your lovely comments about my work. I finally managed to get a copy of the CL magazine today - what an amazing and inspirational article about you. Every admiration for what you've achieved in such a short space of time, and I'm with you about the limitations of printing with the back of a spoon! Best wishes Morag
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! So pleased that you've won this and your prize with St Judes sounds very exciting too - that mug is fantastic by the way, new direction??
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your kind comments. Hopefully the article will highlight the fact that you don't always need lots of expensive equipment and space to be creative (although that's always a bonus!
