A couple of weeks ago i had a go at printing a block of winter trees, i was unsuccessful, but it was interesting to try new ideas any way. This time i tried again, using a single tree, then experimented by adding pencil and ink to the image, to slightly alter it. After this, i then waxed each print, to make the paper translucent. I now have a series of waxed plates which i can now play around to achieve the picture i want.

What did you mean by waxed plates? You should have a wax workshop! Or maybe come to Oregon and do a wax workshop! :)
love the texture of this paper and how it changes the look of the print,almost has a ceramic quality. Do you dip the paper in wax or paint it on? Really lovely work.
Hi Folks, all i do is use very hot melted wax ( which i melt in a pan first) and paint it on to the paper and print with a brush. The trick is using very hot wax. When the wax has cooled on the paper, you can buff it, with a soft cloth. When i get time, i'll do a blog post with more details :))
I love the waxed paper too - must try it sometime. Yet another technique to add to the long list of things I'd like to try!
