Working Repeats

This year i am determined to get the hang of the secret of a successful repeat pattern. I've been delaying this a little, a tiny bit daunted by the whole prospect, but here we go, with the first pattern. Any sensible person would ideally start with a simple design, but i do like to make life a little difficult for myself, and attempted a pattern using components of flowers and birds. Maybe i'll keep things a little simpler next time, (with the great gift of hindsight!) and theres a little more work  needed to get the pattern to fit together properly, but it's definitely a start!

This looks amazing, a very luxurious pattern, I can just picture the huge floor length curtains...

The repeat pattern is absolutely stunning! Even though you've included lots of beautiful detail, it doesn't look too cluttered. I would love to see it on a bolt of fabric!
